Growing mushroom spores using a syringe

You will find several methods to grow mushrooms in your indoor area. Many people start cultivating mushrooms using a spore syringe and through a liquid culture. Before you start using a spore syringe, you must first prepare them for use. The blue cap has to be removed before installing the needle into the syringe. Don’t cut the tip of the mushroom spore syringe. You have to simply twist the blue cap to the left. Twist the needle to the right onto the syringe assembly. Always remember to wear gloves before you start the process and sterilize the needles after installation.

Use of mushroom spore syringe

Spore syringes are a medium used which contain the spores from any kind of mushroom strain. One syringe will contain millions of quality spores, which will be floating in a sterile solution. If you are interested in cultivating mushrooms, you can buy mushroom cultures through online. Earth’s Tongue is a website that specializes in mushroom spores, grow kits, sterilized substrates and lots more. The spore syringe is used to inoculate substrate with a mushroom strain of choice. You have to use a syringe to start the cultivating process. The syringe is also used to drop spores and water mixture onto the slides for microscopy research. Through a microscope, you can have a look at size, shape and color of the spores.

If you want to reproduce spores, you have to fruit some mushrooms from the chosen spores. This process can be done by inoculating a substrate. Edible and medicinal mushroom strains need a different substrate to grow. Using the syringe you need to drop 3 milliliters of spore solution to colonize 1 liter of the substrate. After a few days, you can see white patches of mycelium growing in places where spores were dropped. Wait till the whole substrate is colonized by mushrooms before you start the fruiting process.
